My Christmas Day by River aged 3

I woke up and it was Christmas Day. I was allowed on the bed all night and it was nice and warm on Daddy. Pupynap had a bath and then said I should make sure I remember all of the day today.

When I woke up it was Christmas Day.

I had a little drink and then said to everyone, come on it's time to go and open our presents.

Come on everyone, hurry up!

But when I got down the stairs only Daddy and Puppynap and David was down here. I looked out of the window to see who was coming today.

But I waited for ages and got bored and decided to have a look at my presents to see what I was having. David joined me, we couldn't work it out.

And then I cuddled up with Puppynap and we watched a programme about a reindeer going for a walk in the snow.

David then came to ask if they were here yet but they wasn't. When they get here we can have our presents.

Daddy then came down in his Christmas clothes and we had a cuddle while we waited.

And then the girl came down the stairs and we had a game of rough and tumble.

And then finally they were here.

Come on everyone, it's time to open our presents. Come on everyone.

*Sniff, sniff*

Is that my one's Daddy?

I got a teddy and some wrapping paper...

Is there anything else that's for me?

Yes, lots of bags of treats and snackeroos and things. Lovely!

Then I was tired out and had a lay with teddy on my chair and had a little sleep.

But I woke up when David came in with Puppynap playing with his new toy, a feathering thing on a string. 

Wow!

Then we had a little dance together.

And we both had some extra treats.

And then there was a knock on the door and Mogsie, Twizzle and George's mummy came over to say hello and give me and David some presents.

Brilliant, what have I got?

It's a squeaky penguin, especially for Christmas. I'll say a big thank you next time I see her. It was brilliant present.

And then The Elf came me a great big bone, a bit too big for my mouth but I gave it a go.

And then I remembered I was hungry, it was the afternoon and went in the kitchen t see what Daddy and Puppynap were doing.

While David waited for his dinner at the table.

I had a full roast. Ummm!

I was very full up afterwards and fell asleep on the animal magic legs.

And woke up to Puppynap saying this was the lady that I was named after come to say Happy Christmas to me. She was on the TV

It was then getting late so I cuddled up with The Elf for a sleep until...

David woke me up and we both got some more treats to eat.

Phew, I'm worn out now, it's been such a busy day.

Two Pretty Ladies

I was just having a little rest when Puppynap said come on River, we can't see your eyes it's time for a River Spa Day.

OK get on with it quick though!

I was a very good girl and got three treats for being extra special good!

Then we had the bath bit. I don't mind it as much as I used to because we play a game now when we're in the bath.

What you do is try not to step away from the rubber disc things.

Come on hurry up this is getting hard to stay still!

The next bit is a blow dry.

Brilliant all dried now and pretty girl, just in time...

...to see the other pretty lady from across the road go out for a party.

I Know Something They Don't

I had a brilliant dinner tonight, it was pasta and pasta always makes me go maaaaddddd. I love running outside when I've had pasta round and round and round the garden and tonight even though it was raining I still did it and then came in and showed Daddy and Puppynap how wet I was.

But I wasn't finished yet and grabbed my pulling cloth. They were going to play with me, I made sure of that!

After about an hour Daddy said it was time for me to get a brush and get all my tangles out. When he was doing that Puppynap went to the door and then came back in. There was a card with my name on it. 

I thought it might be my birthday but I didn't think so that wasn't very long ago.

It was from our friend's M and R and from Mogsie and Emma and Twizzle. Puppynap read it out but I got confused. It was about Lil' but I thought she was just on an adventure holiday. 

Puppynap sat me down and said he needed to explain something to me, I think he must have seen I was confused. Lil' was on an adventure he said but that I wouldn't be seeing her again, she wasn't going to come back to play with me but that she loved me very much.

That mad me sad but I know something they don't, Lil' is here I can hear her, I've heard her all day it's just that I haven't seen her yet, but I will. Oh yes I know that I will, after all Daddy did say I had special powers, all doggies and cats do!

She Doesn't Come Down

Last night I was allowed to sleep on the bed with Daddy and Puppynap all night,. It doesn't happen very much although I do get a cuddle on there every morning.

When I woke up I went to run and find Lil' to tell her but I couldn't find her anywhere. I forgot that she's gone on a new adventure. I hope she comes home soon though from her adventure.

Then when it was still dark Puppynap went out side in the rain and did some gardening. It was all very strange of him to do that so early and in the rain but I kept him company as he did some digging in the Peace Garden. He said I was being a very good girl.

When we came Puppynap was all wet and got changed and it was brilliant because I could play tug with his clothes and he let me do it for as long as I wanted!

But I got bored when I couldn't find Lil' to play chase and kept on looking for her. When Puppynap went across the road to have a chat with the lady I looked outside to see if she was there but she wasn't.

And then that cat called Mogsie came by he said to pay his respects. No idea what that means but it was nice to see him even if he did look sad. He should have come in I would have cheered him up, we could play chase!

Oh when's Lil' coming back I'm missing her. I keep on thinking I can hear her on the stairs and go and look but she doesn't come down. Still it's not too long now until Daddy comes home, that will cheer me up.
