I'll Just Wait Until No One Is Looking

I was just thinking it was a lovely day when Daddy said come on River we're going out for the day get your coat on. 

I don't need a coat it's a lovely warm day. Where we going?

Down a long road.

But that doesn't matter as long as I can hang out the window and feel the wind in my hair.

And then we was there to see Daddies friend new little baby. Wow a baby...

...and a cat called Duchess who lives in a house at the end of the garden. I tried to make friends with her but she was a bit sleepy and told me to go away.

But that was OK because it was lunchtime. I had the burger, hand feed of course by Puppynap.

And then it was time for us all to sit around the table and have a bit of a chat. Um I wonder what that stuff in the glass tastes like, I'll just wait until no one is looking to give it a try

I'm feeling very tired all of a sudden I think I better finish off the day going all giddy on this swing.

It Was Time...

Puppynap said it was time...

...OK then let's get this over with.

Oh the humiliation, hair clips, I know I'm a girl but I'm not exactly a girly girl.

But you know what, that really feels better, no more knots, nice clean hair...

...and now a lovely blow dry from Daddy.

All ready for the weekend, smelling like lavender and roses.

Hiding In The Tree

Feeling The Heat

I thought yesterday was the hottest day in the world ever but it wasn't today is. It's so beautiful even David wanted to go outside and play but he needed my help, he gets scared during the day to be in the garden.

I showed him the way up the garden but when I turned around he wasn't there so I had to go back to fetch him, he's very nervous you know.

David must be feeling the heat more than me because he's hardly gone anywhere before he needed to stop off for a drink.

Oh he's taking such a time I'm getting bored waiting for him. I'm off to find Nadia before the sun goes down, David can catch me up!

The Hottest Day In The World Ever

Phew it's so hot today, infact I think it's the hottest day in the world ever and I just can't get cool. I've been outside in the shade but that didn't help, I went up the stairs but that didn't help and then I came in to sit on my chair in the window.

Then Puppynap said that was a silly thing to do as the sun was shining in the window right on me and I'd get even hotter.

Oh, doh, silly me.

It's slightly better down here although I really think I need a hair cut to cool me down.

Down A Mountain & Up Again

When Daddy got up Puppynap said I've got a good idea, let's take River on an adventure to a new place I've found.

Daddy was very excited and went straight back up the stairs to get ready. I was very excited too and was ready and waiting for him when he came back down all washed and clean.

Brilliant, it's a lovely day and Daddy has opened the window and said I can have my head out of it the whole way there. Come on then get that engine started!

It wasn't very long and then Puppynap said we were here. WOW!

Puppynap said this place was called Blue Bell Hill Woods. Come on then, I'll lead the way.

This way, into the woods. 

Wow, I've never been too woods like this before.

*Sniff, sniff*

Yes other doggies have been this way before...

...into the vortex!

It was a very long way down and we walked for ages all the time going down. Puppynap said it would be great in the Winter with snow everywhere, it would be a big snow slide.

OK we'll come back then and give it a go!

When we got to the bottom of the mountain it was beautiful and we saw some horses having dinner in their field. 

And then an amazing thing happened just as we was walking down the pathway. Daddy called me and said...

...I had been such a good girl that I was allowed to run about without my lead on.

BRILLIANT!

After a little while Puppynap said he thought it as time to go back up the mountain again and we turned around to say hello to the horses again.

Daddy said we was going to go a different way back up the mountain, by steps. He said it would be shorter but a lot more work for me.

yes well I'm a clever girl as well and found out that it's easier to walk up the side of the steps on the flat bit than using the steps.

Daddy was well impressed and when they could they both did the same thing.

But it was still hard work and we all got puffed out half way up and had to sit down to have a rest and catch our breath.

I'm not sure who was the most out of breath, me, Daddy or Puppynap.

But I was glad of the rest, there was quiet a way to go yet.

In the end we found out, I was the fittest one and ran all the way up the last steps in the front and wasn't out of breath as much as everyone else was. Next time we're going to go the other way, and go exploring!

This Bed Rest Thing...

This bed rest thing isn't turning out to be too bad. First of all Daddy gave my shoulders a lovely long massage...

...then a little tickle under the chin.

Then we sat in the window to watch the man over the road mix some concrete...

...but it got a bit too hot for me so I went to sleep on the sofa until...

...I heard David come down...

...but Puppynap said that wasn't a reason for me to stop resting.

OK then!
